The heat wave has hit earlier than some experts thought.
Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Fort Saskatchewan, Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Bruderheim, Lamont, Gibbons, Bon Accord and Redwater areas.
Temperatures could reach the mid 30s and UV rays will be above seven.
Environment Canada recommends people take frequent breaks from being outside, drink plenty of water and not leave any person or pet in a closed vehicle for a length of time.
Heat warnings are issued when temperatures pose an increased risk of heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
