Drivers could be in for some good deals at the pump for the next couple weeks.
According to Dan McTeague, senior petroleum analyst with, lower wholesale prices and a recent dramatic drop in oil prices – about $13 a barrel in the past month alone – are translating to lower gas prices for consumers.
McTeague expects prices in the Fort Saskatchewan area to drop by about three cents per litre on Wednesday (Nov.7). As of Tuesday morning gas was selling for about $1.09 per litre.
"These are some of the best gas prices we've seen going back to last March,” McTeague said. “So take advantage of it while you can.”
The low prices should remain stable for about two more weeks, McTeague added.
“After that, it's anyone's guess. We could start to see prices moving back up again."
