Incumbent Gale Katchur has been voted mayor of Fort Saskatchewan.

Katchur, who has already served two terms as mayor, defeated Arjun Randhawa and Judy Sellin.

"I am just thrilled, I can't thank the public enough for showing their confidence in me," said Katchur.

She grabbed 3959 votes (54.4 per cent), Randhawa had 3148 votes (43.25 per cent) and Sellin had 171 votes (2.35 per cent).

Katchur is eager to get back to work.

"I do have pretty much a brand new council coming on with me. We've been on a break now for almost a month with this election. It's time to get everybody moving forward and there's lots to do."
