Arjun Randhawa came up just short in Fort Saskatchewan's mayoral race.

Randhawa (3148 votes) and Judy Sellin (171 votes) lost out to Gale Katchur (3959 votes).

The 24-year-old sent out this statement after his loss:

"I’d like to congratulate all the winning candidates, including the mayor. I’d like to congratulate everyone who put their name on the ballot. Running for public office is an incredibly difficult undertaking and I commend them for having the courage to put their names forward.

I’d like to thank my family who have been incredibly supportive for the duration of this often exhausting campaign and I’d like to thank my many generous volunteers, donors, and all those who cast their ballot for me.

It was an honour to serve the residents of Fort Saskatchewan over the past four years as their city councillor."
