It's an essential part of running a AAA hockey club, or three.
The Fort Saskatchewan Minor Hockey (FSMH) association is looking to the community for support in the form of billet families.
Billet families are used by the Bantam AAA, Minor Midget AAA and Major Midget AAA Rangers, to offer housing during the season for players.
"They're needed to welcome those players from out-of-town to develop the hockey program," said Natasha Frazier, FSMH billet coordinator.
Players on the AAA teams come from as far away as Fort McMurray, St. Paul and Westlock.
Frazier added that the association is really trying to reach out to families without players on the team, to expand the billet program in the Fort.
Last season FSMH needed seven billets— this season they'll need up to nine for the winter.
