The Corporate Communications team in Fort Saskatchewan is looking to revamp the city's website.
Director, Wendy Kinsella, told councillors the website is considered out-of-date during her presentation.
The website was launched in 2013.
"We know that our website isn't 100 per cent functioning on mobile platforms so we want to improve that because we know that's how people do their research these days," explained Kinsella.
They're also looking to start an aggressive waste and organics education campaign ahead of the city-wide recycling and organics pick-up roll out. The department is hoping to increase public engagement with a number of new initiatives including Fort Report and streamline registrations with a program called "IntelliLeisure."
Corporate Communications is looking for $804,091 to cover their annual expenses from the city's $77 million budget.
