Some Sturgeon County residents can drink their tap water again.
The hamlet of Alcomdale has been under a boil advisory since June of 2013. The advisory was issued after untreated well water failed tests for giardia and cryptosporidium, both which pose health concerns.
A new pipeline route was mapped out by Sturgeon County council and administration and then later built. The waterline now provides fresh water to Alcomdale and rural customers who opted in for the service.
Alberta Health Services approved the removal of the advisory on Nov.7.
