A three-vehicle crash sent multiple people to hospital.
 
On Monday (Aug.27), three vehicles collided at the intersection of Highway 28 and Opal Road (Range Road 224).
 
According to an update from Redwater RCMP Sgt. Ed Bourque, police responded to the crash around 12:30 p.m.
 
A total of five people were taken to hospital. Their injuries were undisclosed.
 
Police believe an SUV traveling westbound on Highway 28 tried turning south when it was hit from behind by another SUV and van.
 
An investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
 
In March, a gravel truck rear-ended a school bus on Opal Road, killing 15-year-old Maisie Watkinson. The driver of the gravel truck, 40-year-old Sukhdeep Deol, was arrested and charged.
