One person has died in a single vehicle collision northeast of Morinville.

Today (July 9) at around 12:15 p.m., police were called to a Range Road 245 near Township Road 561 in Sturgeon County.
 
An SUV traveling on Range Road 245 with four occupants lost control and rolled into the ditch.
 
A female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
 
Another passenger was thrown from the vehicle and transported by STARS to an Edmonton hospital in critical condition.
 
The male driver of the vehicle as well as a child were not seriously hurt.
 
The cause and contributing factors to the collision remain under investigation.
