Elk Island Public Schools have cancelled bus service this morning (December 15)
Buses won't be making their rounds in Fort Saskatchewan, Sherwood Park and Strathcona County due to the icy roads.
"The roads, particularly in residential areas are very slippery," said Laura McNabb with EIPS.
Schools are still open, though.
"We would caution people to be extremely careful walking on sidewalks, please take extra precautions if you do choose to take your children to school today."
They're hoping that by the afternoon services will resume if the road conditions improve.
Parents can check the status of their child's bus on their school's website.
