A new mayor was named early Tuesday morning in Gibbons.

Dan Deck (501 votes) will be the new face of the town after he defeated Louise Bauder (239 votes).

"It was very humbling to see that going out and meeting the people, shaking their hands and listening to their concerns worked. Very humbling that they came out in those numbers and supported me," said Deck.

Deck has been a longtime resident of Sturgeon County and said he wants to make a change.

"The history of the last four years is behind us. It's time for the seven of us to get together to work and develop to make our community grow."

Gibbons council has seen a bit of a shake up as only Amber Harris, Jean Woodger and Darren McCann will return from last term.
