Sturgeon Valley residents are back in their homes as CN continues the cleanup effort.

CN crews, dangerous goods and environmental teams remain on the scene of Sunday's (October 22) derailment.

They're busy repairing track and cleaning up after 12 cars derailed with two spilling roughly 50 litres of crude oil behind a valley neighbourhood.

There's no estimate available yet for when the rail line will re-open.

Following an assessment yesterday, it was determined by crews that there is no apparent danger to the public.

Residents with questions or concerns can call CN Public Relations at 1-888-888-5909.
