The City of Fort Saskatchewan crews have a big task ahead of them.
Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for much of central Alberta on Thursday (Jan.25). Overnight, the Fort got hit with an estimated 20 cm, with more expected throughout Friday.
Crews first plow highways, then arterial roads, collector/main streets, industrial/downtown and then residential streets and lanes.
"To ensure a safe and efficient snow clearing event, residents are encouraged to move their vehicles off the street," said the city's roads and utilities manager, Brian Rogers. "We appreciate your cooperation and patience while staff perform snow clearing and ice control over the next several weeks."
There is a priority system (much like the one listed above), for trails and sidewalks.
