Charges have been laid in the death of 75-year-old Ronald Worsfold.

Police have charged Beryl Musila, 28, from St. Albert with first degree murder and indignity to human remains.

On July 8, Worsfold's family reported he was missing from his St. Albert house and had not been in contact with his family since the previous night. A missing person investigation was launched and investigators located a body near Stony Plain.

Today, the autopsy confirmed the body found was Worsfold's.

Musila is scheduled to appear in Sherwood Park Provincial Court on July 12.

Investigators confirmed the theft of Worsfold's Toyota Corolla five days before his disappearance was not connected with his death or disappearance.

No further information will be released as this investigation is now before the courts.
