Those who usually use the Cardiff Pump House for fresh water will have to find another station to fill their tanks.

The station on Mill Road in the hamlet of Cardiff is down for repairs and regular maintenance.

"They're replacing the concrete pad in front of the fill station and then repaving the loop [to the fill station]," said Sturgeon County senior communications officer, Sheila Moore.

Over time, the combination of heavy trucks, extra vehicle traffic and parking to sled on the local hill, has broken down the road.

The county recommends regular users of the Cardiff fill station use Allin Ridge or Villeneuve fill stations instead. There are also numerous other stations nearby, too.

The Cardiff station is closed until September 24.
