The Town of Bruderheim's truck fill is back in action.

The Truck fill station was shut down from Mar 4 - Apr.20, after a vehicle struck the station causing structural damage.

"We ran into asbestos inside the vermiculite which is an insulating barrier in our brick wall so that has to go through a proper abatement process. So that delayed the job a little bit, but everything went well, it's a much improved truck fill to avoid what happened before," said director of public works, Dennis Tomuschat.

The truck fill now has a swing arm on the gantry of the pipe.

"What happened before is the truck caught the pipe and put pressure on it and instead of it being able to swing out which it may have released. This one will sway 22.5 degrees either end. It will give the operator a big of an alert system that they may get tangled up when they leave," he explained.

The total project cost could not be revealed at this time.
