A contract has been renewed between Bruderheim and Strathcona County.
Bruderheim council made the decision at Wednesday's meeting (Feb.21) to extend its bylaw enforcement contract with Strathcona County.
Strathcona County Bylaw officers will go out to Bruderheim when needed. They will provide service for dog bylaw issues in town, Bruderheim’s community standards bylaw and are qualified to enforce provincial standards.
The contract has been renewed for a period of two years.
"After an inquiry into whether Lamont County may be able to assist Bruderheim with bylaw enforcement, it was determined that the County would be unable to do so," said mayor Karl Hauch.
Wednesday's meeting also marks an important milestone for Bruderheim council - their first ever recognition at a meeting of their location on Treaty 6 territory.
