The town of Bruderheim is expanding, quite literally.
Bruderheim is all set to seal the deal on purchasing over 10 acres of land just south of the cemetery, on the east side of highway 45.
The announcement was made on Thursday (December 21) but the purchase will not be complete until fall 2018.
“It’s not often a municipality has an opportunity like this to guide long term planning and sustainability,” said mayor Karl Hauch.
The land will provide the town the opportunity to address development needs, such as social housing, senior housing, recreation or professional services.
At this time there is no immediate development plan and no companies have applied for development permits yet.
“We are so fortunate to continue to be supported by commercial and industrial partners in the region. On behalf of our residents, Town Council and staff, we offer a big thank you to the landowner for working together with us toward a bright future for Bruderheim,” said Hauch.
The cost of the land will be made public once the sale is complete.
