Bruderheim have passed their pre-authorized tax installment payment plan.
The goal of the program is to make taxes less of a financial burden for Bruderheim families.
"They can make their steady payment throughout the year to the town," explained mayor Karl Hauch. "It ensures the regular tax payment to the town office and it allows residents to include taxes in their budget planning."
It's anticipated the plan will help clear up the over $300,000 of overdue taxes and utilities currently owed to the town.
The program is the result of administration closely studying how other municipalities collect their taxes. Also, the plan will help clear up confusion for residents and town staff when out-of-the-blue payments are brought in to the town office.
Town councillors hailed the plan as a huge step forward in preparing for the future.
