Bruderheim council has voted to renew their waste management contract with GFL.
The decision was made to renew the contract at Wednesday's council meeting (Mar.21).
"There are some small corrections to make on the contract, then it'll be signed and will be good until 2023," said mayor Karl Hauch.
The contract with GFL remains largely the same as the previous contract. There is, however, an option for Bruderheim to begin looking at organic waste collection in the coming years.
The town will need more information, including feedback from residents, before an organic waste removal program can move forward.
"We don't have any planned public info session... but we have a number of events coming up in the spring and summer in the town of Bruderheim, and we'll have a chance to talk to residents and get their feedback. It's not something that we need to decide on right away," said Hauch.
Other important issues discussed at Wednesday's meeting included the town's donation policy, beekeeping and funding for a multi-generational community park.
