Starting your day with breakfast is necessary for multiple health reasons.
Mostly, it's linked to a number of positives for your body.
These include reduced weight gain over time, improved appetite control and decreased cravings throughout the day.
"You should always start your day with a high protein, high fibre breakfast. I like to have scrambled eggs with shredded cheese topped on a piece of toast with a dollop of salsa, or blend a banana with frozen berries, Greek yogurt and milk for a quick smoothie," recommended Celene Winterton, registered dietitian with Alberta Heartland Primary Care Network.
Having a breakfast within two hours of waking up is recommended to help you stay focused throughout the day.
