Senior girls rugby is in full swing for Fort Saskatchewan schools.
Archbishop Jordan/St John Paul II High School senior girls rugby team was able to fend off a late rally by Fort High in a 20-19 win.
After going down 15-0 at halftime, the Sting had some work to do and came out strong in the latter half.
"To go down by four tries in the first half and score three in the second half, that's astronomical for us," said Bryan Cox, head coach of the Sting.
After scoring a try in the last minute of play, the conversion was failed, which would have given Fort a 21-20 lead.
With the loss, Fort High falls to 0-2 on the season.
The senior girls Sting next game will be in Edmonton on Tuesday (May 9) against M.E. LaZerte High School.
