Another penalty filled game led to a Rebels loss.
The Fort Saskatchewan Junior B Rebels lost their tenth game of the season to the Red Deer Rampage,12-6.
Falling behind 3-0 early and 4-2 after the first period, the Rebels had a steep hill to climb.
"Penalties have been killing us all year, they got a quick jump and got a couple goals," said Will Flink.
After a disastrous second period, the Rampage led 10-3.
In the final 20 minutes, the Fort came out with new energy, but it wasn't enough.
Jack Snider, Brayden Parker, Ethan Wong, Logan Bruce and Jordan Diewert all had goals in the loss.
"Other teams egg us on and we're not very good at controlling ourselves," added Flink.
Zack Stabel made 42 saves in net.
"We won the (third) period 3-2," added Flink. "We played a much more sound game, even with a shortened bench, so we're hoping we can carry that momentum into the next string of games."
The Junior B Rebels now have their biggest games of the season ahead of them as they battle with the Edmonton Warriors and St Albert Crude for a playoff spot.
Tuesday (July 4), the Rebels hit the road to face the Warriors at 8:00 p.m. and Thursday (July 6), they head to St Albert to take on the Crude at 8:30 p.m.
