John Parfett has made a decision.

The Fort Saskatchewan Junior B Hawks coach planned to hand over the reigns this summer, but has since decided to return for a fifth straight season.

"What I'm looking forward to... is just building this young team."

Parfett helped the Junior B squad to the league semifinals last year.

"There's a lot of young guys and new players. We have a long way to go, but it's looking encouraging."

Parfett will have some big holes to fill in the lineup as the Fort ages out Justin Ferris, Mason Younger, Noah Keiser and Micah Bonneville from last year's team.

The Hawks struggled to generate any offence in a 3-1 preseason loss at home earlier this week. They did pick up a 4-3 win in their first preseason game against the Edmonton Mustangs. Jarrell Pinchuk had a hat trick in the victory.

The Junior B Hawks start the regular season on Sept.21 against the Beaumont Chiefs.
