The Fort Saskatchewan Midget AA Red Sox were two wins shy of a provincial title.
The Sox started the weekend with a 7-5 win over the NEZ Padres and a 4-2 win over Barrhead.
In the third game, they lost 5-1 against the Foothills, forcing them to play a tie-breaker against the Barrhead Orioles.
In the tiebreaker, the Fort finished strong defeating Barrhead and advancing to the playoff round.
A solid round robin (2-1) ended with a heartbreaking loss against the Strathmore Reds in the semi-finals.
