A slow start hurt the Sox in their doubleheader.
In the beaming heat, the Fort Saskatchewan Junior AAA Red Sox split two games in St Albert.
Game one saw the Sox take on the St. Albert Cardinals, they lost 10-0.
Right after, it was back to work as they faced off with the Community Park Reds.
"When we hit like we can hit and pitch like we can pitch we'll be in a lot of games," said coach Darren Dekinder.
Fort Saskatchewan's offense came alive, getting out to an early 11-0 lead. The Sox ended up winning 12-6.
"We didn't maintain our intensity, we had a bit of a let down and we let them back in," added Dekinder.
Next, the (7-7) Junior AAA squad will be on the road against Calgary North on Sunday (July 16) at the Rundlelawn Diamond.
