Fort Saskatchewan's Tolide Judo Kwai hosted the 2018 Judo Alberta Provincial Championships at the DCC on Saturday (Feb.10).

The event saw 300 competitors come out from across the province, including 21 from Fort Saskatchewan.

Competitors ranging in age from under 10 to over 50 were invited to compete in the event, which encompassed all varieties of height, weight, and experience levels.

The Provincial Championships will be followed in March by the Edmonton International Judo Championships and Judo Symposium.

"This is our third consecutive year of hosting Provincials, we're always proud to bring them to Fort Saskatchewan," said tournament director and head instructor with Tolide Judo Kwai, Keith Bibbey.

Saturday's event in Fort Saskatchewan was mandatory for any athletes wishing to compete in the National Championships, which will be held in Calgary in May.
