A late push wasn't enough to boost the JP II senior girls basketball team to a win.
Down by nine in the fourth quarter, the Patriots battled back to get within one point, but Mother Margaret Mary walked away with a 40-36 victory.
"I thought it was good, we executed some of the things we wanted to but we just didn't rebound and that was the difference," said head coach Sarah Balla.
JP II was lead on offence by Talia Mullen who had 21 points on the night.
"We just need to be able to sustain a 40 minute effort. We have these shining moments but we have yet to play 40 minutes of basketball," added Balla.
Next up in league play for the 1-3 senior girls will be 3-0 Millwoods Christian on Monday (Jan.15) at 5:00 p.m.
