Fort Saskatchewan will be well represented in Metro League senior girls volleyball playoffs, but not so much on the senior boys side.

The (3-8) St. André Bessette (SAB) Cardinal boys lost their final two games of the season in straight sets against Fort High and Blessed Oscar Romero, ending their playoff hopes.

Fort High's senior boys team also finished with a 3-8 record, leaving them in 9th, just one spot out of playoffs.

Both SAB and Fort High's senior girls teams advanced to the playoffs this year.

The (5-4) Cardinals ended the regular season in 5th in the Division 4 standings. St. Andre Bessette will host (6-3) JH Picard in the quarterfinals.

SAB faced off with JH Picard in their very first game of the season, falling 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-20) at home.

The (5-4) Sting find themselves in 6th, set with a date against (6-3) Vimy Ridge in the quarterfinals.

On October 10, the Sting defeated Vimy Ridge 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 25-17, 25-19) at Fort High.

Both of the senior girls playoff games are on Monday (Oct.29) at 5:30 p.m.
