The Fort Saskatchewan Hawks picked up a crucial Halloween win.
Wednesday night (Oct.31) at the JRC, the Junior B Hawks defeated the first place Beaumont Chiefs 6-4.
Tyson Davey had two goals and an assist, while Jesse Morrison picked up four assists for the birds.
Newly signed netminder Brandon Vogel made his Hawks debut, stopping 36/40 in the win.
"It took a little bit to get the rust off, but the guys just rallied. We got a win against a team that hasn't lost a whole lot," said Vogel.
The 19-year-old Fort product spent parts of the past three seasons with the Sherwood Park Crusaders, playing in 59 AJHL games.
Ryan Krushen, Blake Anker, Darren Tardif and Matthew Bennett each added goals for the Fort.
"Every year that I've been here we've never liked Beaumont," said Bennett. "Tonight was just a great win for us."
Beaumont (9-2) won't have to wait long to seek revenge. They'll host Fort Sask (6-7) on Friday night (Nov.2). Face off at the Ken Nichol Arena is 8:30 p.m.
