Numerous missed chances on offence cost the U18 boys the win.

On Sunday (June 25), the Fort Saskatchewan U18 (Pell) boys soccer team wasn't able to get past a speedy Willowby club, losing 4-3.

It wasn't for lack of trying as the Fort controlled the majority of the first half.

"We had a really good start for the first 30 minutes, we controlled but we couldn't put it in the net and then they came on and scored three quick ones," said coach Wes Pell.

Being down after the half, Fort Sask was able to bring back the game to 3-2, but couldn't find the equalizer.

"We had a few good chances we just couldn't bury them," said Pell.

They were able to capitalize late to make it 4-3, but it wasn't enough.

Pell added that to be successful at the finals they have to start hitting the net.

Next up for the U18 boys will be the the city finals against Willowby, Belgravia and Dovercourt from July 7-9.
