A local basketball player was recently recognized.
 
Fort High Grade 12 student Gracyn Anderson was named Metro Athlete of the Week (Dec.10-16).
 
"I'm honoured to be recognized. It's a really good feeling for sure."
 
Anderson led the Sting senior girls basketball team to their first regular season win this season on Monday, putting up 41 points.
 
"I always like giving recognition to all of my teammates, because I think that's important and it's just going to show with our season," she added.
 
Fort High's head coach Lindsey Reed had high praise for her point guard.
 
"She's a phenomenal ball player. She works really really hard and she encourages all the girls."
 
Anderson and the Sting will be back at Fort High on Thursday (Dec.20), when they welcome Mother Margaret Mary Catholic School.
