A couple of late mistakes cost the Fort High girls senior rugby team.

In their regular season finale, the Sting welcomed ME Lazerte for a back and forth battle on Monday (May 14).

ME Lazerte jumped out to an early 15-5 lead. In the second half, the Fort fought their way back to grab a 17-15 lead.

"I think we did good overall, but we could have been better. Their last try really slowed us down," said captain Chloe Revelle. "We have to work a lot harder."

A couple of late chances for the Sting weren't capitalized on and a strong finish by ME Lazerte ended in a 32-22 loss for the Fort.

"We controlled most of the game but we lost control on their goal line like four times and they ran it back," said Sting head coach Bryan Cox.

Fort High (1-3) will start playoffs next week, the date and opponent are still to be determined.
