Fort Saskatchewan started playoffs with a convincing win.
The female midget Rebels welcomed the St Albert Rams for game one of the 2017 playoffs and shut the door, winning 7-0.
Brittney Howse was all over the scoresheet, scoring three goals and adding two assists.
Krysta Krauskopf, Katelyn Nixon, Darcie Kondas and Alex Walsh also found the back of the net. Not to be outdone, Lindsay Bettac had four assists on the night.
"Everyone contributed, worked hard, stayed out of the penalty box and we had good goaltending," said coach Norm Maxwell.
Goalie Megan Maxwell was a wall in net earning her fifth shut out of the GELC season.
"(Megan's) our anchor for this team," said coach Charleigh Kondas. "Offensively I'd like to see some better ball movement."
Next game for the Rebels in the double-elimination playoff format will be Saturday (June 24), at the Sherwood Park Arena, against the Parkland Posse, starting at 12:00 p.m.
