Eric Florchuk will be lining up against some of the NHL's best this week in Washington.
The 18-year-old from Fort Saskatchewan impressed Caps' head coach Todd Reirden and general manager Brian MacLellan at rookie camp, now he'll be sticking around with the regulars.

Florchuk was selected by the Stanley Cup champion Washington Capitals in the seventh round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

The former Ranger split last season between the Victoria Royals and the Saskatoon Blades, recording 16 goals and 34 assists in 71 games.

Washington Capitals' rookies took part in a preseason showcase in Florida against Tampa Bay and Nashville Predators from September 8-11. Florchuk scored in an 8-5 win over the Predators' rookies.

Training camp will start on Friday (Sept.14) and last 19 days. The NHL regular season starts on October 3.
