Local lacrosse players are making their way overseas.

The 24th annual Aleš Hřebeský Memorial box lacrosse tournament is being held in the Czech Republic on April 26-29.

Edmonton's Senior B Warriors will be sending eight players to the tournament to represent team Alberta including Jon McMillan, Greg Bourret, Darren Bourret, Paul Koch, Nate Greter, Nic Krywolt, Geoff Wright and Erik Turner.

"This year we brought back that core group and then we added some more pieces that are going to make us a lot stronger and better," said Turner.

Team Alberta won the tournament in their first appearance in 2016, defeating the host team LC Custodes Radotín 7-6 in overtime.

Alberta will end up facing Chocolax (Switzerland) on Wednesday (April 26) at 10:10 a.m. (MST) and the Vienna Monarchs (Austria) on Thursday (April 27) at 4:50 a.m. (MST).

The Aleš Hřebeský Memorial is one of the most prestigious box-lacrosse events in Europe, with over 21 teams from ten countries participating.

A full schedule and live streaming of the tournament can be found on www.ahmemorial.cz.
