The Senior AAA Chiefs couldn't pull off the upset on Sunday afternoon.

2018 Allan Cup hosts, the Rosetown Redwings made a stop at the JRC and jumped on the Fort early.

After falling behind 2-0 in the first period, forward Tyler French said they knew they needed to be better in the second.

"All of a sudden it was 2-1 and we finally realized we had another chance to win one."

Jordan Wood found the back of the net at 15:50 mark of the second period.

Rosetown would hold a 3-1 lead going into the third period, before Brendan Baumgartner tapped home a feed from Jamie Marshall.

"We had a pretty solid line-up tonight, we knew we were in it and had a good chance to win. We knew we were outworking them, but unfortunately we couldn't put one in," added French.

Despite holding the Redwings to one shot in the final ten minutes of regulation, the Chiefs struggled to capitalize on their chances, losing 3-2.

Ryan Demharter made 27 saves in the loss.

Next up, Fort Saskatchewan will take a trip east to Rosetown on Sunday (November 19) for a 3:00 p.m. puck drop.
