The Ardrossan U13 boys were rolling into provincials on a high.

Scoring 34 in the Tri County Cup to advance to the provincial championships, the young squad faced some stiff competition in Carstairs.

After going 15-0 in the regular season, Ardrossan only managed to win two out of four games on the big stage.

"Overall, it was a good experience for our team. They did well, I'm quite proud of them," said coach Chad Stacey.

In the bronze medal game, the boys brought it to a shootout, ultimately losing and finishing fourth in the province.

"It was anybody's game. All the games we played were pretty close and losing in a penalty shootout is a 50/50 thing," added Stacey.
