Bruderheim Elementary School Library Photo Provided by Principal Jeff Huculak

The Adopt a School program, a national initiative to raise funds for elementary school libraries across Canada, continues for the school in Bruderheim.  On Friday, October 2nd, staff and students assembled to visit with Bruderheim Mayor Karl Hauch and Tanner Chambers from Chapters Sherwood Park.  The visit was a beneficial one, as Chapters dropped off some new books for the elementary school.

Bruderheim Elementary, a K-6 school that has approximately 140 students, signed up last year and was adopted by Chapters in Sherwood Park for the current campaign. This fundraising effort is underway and will be ongoing until October 10th.  They are currently in third place, up against larger schools.  They ask everyone to please continue to help.

You can help in various ways.  The first is completely free - go to, search for Bruderheim and adopt the school for FREE.  You can do this every single day to help boost the school into first place.  You are also able to donate to the school in store or online.  Every $12 donation online also counts towards 10 adopts, which moves the school closer to first place.

The school that receives the most "adopts" online within the province will receive $10,000 for their library.  Second place wins $7500 and third $5000. Currently the school is in third place, but would love to end in first place.  They will be presented with a donation of 6 or 7 boxes of books on Friday, October 2nd from Chapters Sherwood Park, because the school was adopted.  Any donations made in store before October 10th will be presented to the school in the form of gift cards for books.

Vote today and every day until October 10!
