Several fire advisories and bans have been added in southern and western Alberta prior to the weekend.

Hot and dry weather has caused extreme fire hazards.

As for the local area and much of central Alberta, there isn't a lot. Lamont County is still under an advisory, which was issued all the way back on June 5.

Residents are allowed to have fire pits, safe campfires as well as burn barrels with screens. Small fire permits are also being issued.

Fire bans are currently in place for communities such as Red Deer, Lethbridge and Sylvan lake. Check the full fire ban list here.
