It's been nearly seven months since Danielle Power and Andrea Brousseau of Confetti Sweets made their television debut, and business is booming.

The pair and Marilou Honrado of Cloud Cakes in Edmonton appeared on an episode of The Big Bake, a competitive baking series on Food Network Canada in late September. As the name implies, a cake's minimum height must be four and a half feet tall.

They were given a theme for their cake, "Love at First Fright," mixing concepts of love and Halloween. The trio whipped up a spiced sweet potato cake with cinnamon cream cheese icing, topped with a salted caramel sauce and homemade candied pecans. 

"We featured that here in-store as cakes and cupcakes, and they flew off the shelves," explained Confetti Sweets operations manager Danielle Power. 

Power said there are typically times of the year where they slow down; however, since the airing of their episode, things have been busy with no signs of slowing down.

"We're so grateful for the influx of business that's brought us," she continued. 

Recently, Confetti Sweets gained attention after donating more than $35,000 to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation with their blue and yellow sugar cookies and cookie mix.
