We're kicking off the final week of July and it's hard to believe that soon we'll be thinking of skates rather than sandals.

City of Fort Saskatchewan employee, Derik Butler, sent us a couple of pictures of the Jubilee Recreation Centre getting prepped for flooding.  With August approaching quickly,  the JRC will be needed for hockey camps starting soon.

To have great looking, smooth skating ice is a lot of dedicated work done with pride from the City staff.  Tony Stacey was able to capture video of the ice preparation with long time City Employee and Ice Maker, Jayne Rice.

Hear more from Jayne on the process to flood the JRC and why she enjoys making the ice for the residents of Fort Saskatchewan here.
