They said snow was coming and boy, has it ever!

According to Environment Canada, they are expecting between 10-25 cm of snow to fall throughout the central regions of Alberta on Tuesday (Nov.16). A snowfall warning is currently in place.

In addition to the snowfall, strong northerly winds with gusts to 70 km/h will be blowing for most of the day.

Visibility may be reduced in areas and Environment Canada warns that heavy snow could make travel difficult. They advise motorists to be prepared to adjust to the changing road conditions.

As of 6:30 a.m., 511 Alberta is reporting snow and ice-covered highways all around the heartland and in Fort Saskatchewan, with poor visibility.

The dangerous road conditions have also forced local school divisions to cancel some of their buses.
