The Fort Saskatchewan & District Chamber of Commerce is looking forward to the return of trade shows at the Dow Centennial Centre later this spring.

After a two-year hiatus caused by COVID-19, Fort Saskatchewan Trade Show and Sale will return spectacularly with more space and an outdoor component.

"We've been doing it for over 35 years, and it is definitely a staple for the community," said chamber executive director Tamara Dabels.

The show has attracted thousands of people, and more than 200 vendors have participated in previous years. This year's outdoor component brings another element to the event, including RVs, outdoor toys, and an entertainment area.

Dabels said the new additions and extra space inside the DCC will allow for physical distancing.

"We're just doing everything we can to be considerate of those amongst us who are vulnerable," she said.

In addition, Dabels said smaller-to-medium size businesses missed the shows because they gave them an opportunity to meet with consumers in their own community.

"I've heard from the community that they want to have something to do on the weekend, to celebrate and be with their family and to support the local community,"

The dates for the 2022 Trade Shows are:

  • Apr. 29 5 p.m. - 9 p.m.
  • Apr. 30 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
