The Ardrossan Parade & Picnic is back and bigger than ever.
On June 18, at the Memorial Hall area in Ardrossan, enjoy a parade, vendors, live entertainment and so much more.
Organizers expect bigger crowds with the recent cancellation of the Canada Day parade in Strathcona County.
“It has quadrupled if not more in size from last year because everybody is now coming out to celebrate, which is fantastic,” said Kerry Parsons, the parade coordinator.
The 75th annual event is free to attend.
“Come prepared for a full fun day of activities [and] bring a chair,” added Parsons.
Here is a schedule of events:
- 7 a.m. - Free pancake breakfast at Fire Station #3
- 10:30 a.m. - The market will be open to browse local vendors
- 11 a.m. - Parade starts
- 12 p.m. - Beer gardens open
- 12:30 p.m. - 11 p.m. Live entertainment/performances
- 10:15 p.m. - Fireworks
Some highlights for kids include a bouncy castle, magicians and catching candy as the parade rolls by.
A 50/50 raffle will also be held in support of the Ardrossan Recreational and Agricultural Society. Tickets can be purchased in advance at this website.
