The Diamond Ring Ringette tournament is underway at the JRC and Sportsplex!

Food bank donations are being accepted for the "Stuff a Bag" challenge, where ringette bags are being filled with food bank items.

Robyn Krisher, Public Relations for Fort Saskatchewan Ringette says the U10 girls decided to donate the money they got from fundraising instead of having a Christmas party.  Krisher says the parents are very proud of the girls for making this decision.

U14 games got underway at the Sportsplex this morning as the Fort Sask Ice Ice Baby lost 8-3 to Hinton.

Abby Morgan says she thinks they could have done better, the other team was quite aggressive leading to lots of penalties for both teams but it was really fun because she likes playing games and tournaments.

Coach Jeff Morgan says Hinton was a stronger team than they're used to.  Morgan says overall they got a few things to work on but it wasn't the worst game.

The u14 team faces Saskatoon tonight at 7:00pm, then tomorrow at 5:00pm against Fort McMurray, before the final on Sunday at 10:30am.

Overall there are eight U10 teams taking part, four U12 and U14 teams as well as five U16 teams.
