The Storm the Fort series, presented by Johnny B Fitt, returns this year with the Night Race on Saturday, April 30, starting at 9:30 p.m.
There will be two distances, a 5 km and a 10 km race, which starts at the West River's Edge Pavilion and runs through a variety of rugged trails adjacent to the North Saskatchewan River. Contestants will jump over roots and logs along their way.
Participants will be raising money for Families First Society Fort Saskatchewan.
Johnny B Fitt has already surpassed its fundraising goal, but people are still welcome to donate.
People ages 14 and up are able to compete in this race, with all who register and race receiving a free t-shirt and a medal.
As of April 13, 2016, there are 265 runners qualified with a cap of 300.
