Poor visibility has blanketed the Heartland and Capital regions with snow and strong winds. Environment Canada issued a Weather Alert for the system moving through Central Alberta that should move through by late Thursday.
Snow accumulations will be between 5 to 10cm and strong winds gusting to 80 km/h.
Road conditions around Fort Saskatchewan are in good to fair condition with poor visibility being a factor due to blowing snow.
Motorists are encouraged to slow down and drive to the conditions.
