The 2022 Bejing Olympics are almost here.

Six athletes from the area are going to be representing Team Canada this year.

Emerance Maschmeyer from Bruderheim will be one of the goalies for women's hockey. Their first game is on Thursday (Feb.3) at 9:10 p.m.

Daniel Carr, Adam Tambellini and Matt Tomkins were all picked for the men's hockey team. Feb.10 at 6:10 a.m. is their first game.

Melissa Lotholz is currently living in Edmonton but is originally from Barrhead. She will be competing in the bobsleigh event which begins Feb.10.

Lastly, Marc Kennedy from St. Albert will be going for men's curling. That starts Feb.9 at 5:05 a.m.

The opening ceremony is on Friday (Feb.4).
