One person was killed in a crash on Highway 21.

Police were called to the highway collision on Thursday (Mar. 24) at around 2:35 p.m. near Camrose.

Mounties believe two pickup trucks collided when one of them moved into oncoming traffic.

One of the drivers, a 30-year-old man from Sherwood Park, was killed. The other driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries before being released.

The highway was closed for several hours while emergency crews were on scene but reopened at around 9 p.m.

Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor.

Police say no further updates are anticipated.
